Easter Weekend

It was a great Easter. Kind of a whirlwind, but it was good. We got to spend a lot of time with family this year. I took all seven kids to meet up with a cousin and her three children on Thursday. It was a lot of fun. The kids played, we got Mexican food for lunch, went to a park, and took the kids to play laser tag.

That night we raced home since one of my sisters was coming to stay with her husband and three children. We made bracelets, ate, shopped at Savers, and then I took their daughter to the Hanna Montana movie. It was awesome. I loved it. I was crying and had the hugest smile on my face when she performed at her home town. I had C get three of her songs from i tunes to put on my ipod. Boom de boom, boom de boom de boom. Boom de boom, boom de boom de boom. Love that song. Love Butterfly, Fly Away. Love The Climb. Gotta go see it.

After returning home from the movie Friday night, I started my desserts for the family picnic on Saturday. We loaded our two cars and headed out once again to see D's family Saturday morning. We had a good time watching the kids look for eggs, eating yummy food, visiting with family and playing games. Drove back late that night, just in time to be the bunny. Being the bunny is a lot of work. I buy, divide, and pass the baton. D stuffs eggs and hides them and the baskets.

For the last two or three years, we've decided that color coding the eggs makes it fair. Can you believe it's come to this? But with a large family, everyone is worried that someone might get more than they do. I remember myself. As my mom would cut the brownies, we would all claim our brownie. She would then ask, "Do I have to get the ruler out?" That 's how I feel about eggs. It makes it simple. The kids look for their color of eggs. Done.
This is S's first Easter. She was so much fun to watch and dress up. She even had her first ponytail today. Look close, squint your eyes, and you might be able to see it.

The girls' dresses came with matching doll dresses. I was all over that!

It was a beautiful day. Gorgeous weather, good music at church, pancakes for breakfast, fend for yourself lunch, and BLT sandwiches with strawberry spinach salad for dinner. Sounds like Easter to me. (I was pooped. We had no eggs, potatoes or roasts. I did my best.)

Am I having fun with my girls? What do you think?

Hey, I love my boys and have fun with them too. But...they don't pose, they don't say cheese, they hide under pillows, they get ornery. I think you get the picture.

Happy Easter. With a neighbor passing away this morning, and another neighbor's dear friend passing away on Friday, I'm grateful for the knowledge that I have about the Savior, the Atonement, and His resurrection. What a blessing that we too can live again.

It looks like Easter went well for you. We didn't do anything special yesterday for dinner. Your sounded pretty yummy. I don't dare show M your pictures of the girls and thei matching dresses. We'd have to run out and buy her a set as well. I forgot about your color coded eggs. Cute. Sorry to hear about your friends passings. I wasn't aware. Were they expected?

How would it be to have a girl? I would love to dress them up like your girls. They are so cute. I am sure that I will get to the point where I will have to do the color coding of eggs. Right now, the boys are happy to just get candy.
