Cook an egg on a rock?

Remember the myth about cooking an egg on a rock? I've thought about doing it every now and then to see if it works.

Today, S saw me across the cul-de-sac and wanted to go to me. She couldn't get past the driveway because it was so hot on her bare little feet. She was crying and dancing like a hot potato. I ran across the circle and grabbed her and took her inside. She cried herself to sleep after washing her feet and then putting an ointment on them.

Tonight I discovered that her little feet just like an egg, had definately gotten cooked on the rock. My poor baby has blisters on the bottom of her feet and I now have no need to see if I can cook that egg outside. Myth busted? Nope. It's true.

Oh no!!! I am so sad for your poor little baby!! SOO sorry!! It's hard to believe it's that hot somewhere! We've been 48* and rainy. Just like winter practically!

Ouch! I'm sorry. That is not fun. I hope she heals quickly. I'll be more careful now with my own kids.

Oh my goodness, that looks awful. Take good care of her. Glad I don't live in a place with so much heat!

Sheesh! Poor kiddo...what a thing to have happen. Reminds me of being a kid and running barefoot to the neighbor's from bits of shade to grass to bits of shade again to keep my feet from looking like that! Hot places we live in! This is the time of year I keep reminding myself about how beautiful the winters are...
