I went to our ward's enrichment night. I was sceptical and was feeling a little rebellious, like I might want to leave early. But...a friend called and asked if I would like to go with her. I told her my plans. She said that we could come up with a secret wink or armpit scratch as a secret code to leave early. Sounded good to me as we laughed about it over the phone.
I took my truffle for dessert and we enjoyed Hawaiian haystacks and fruit. (Ya, it's a Mormon thing ) The theme of the evening was "Becoming an 8 cow wife". It stems from the Johny Lingo movie. (It's a Mormon thing too, but everyone would enjoy it.)
We each had a card with eight stations that we would go to throughout the evening. I can't remember what they were but they were very clever and it was a lot of fun. Well, after about the fifth station I see my friend scratching her armpit looking at me. I was like, "What are you doing?" I'm giggling thinking how funny she's being. I then ask, "Did I forget to shave my pits?" She starts laughing and then it dawns on me. Duh!! Our secret code. LOL!! Meanwhile, several people have overheard the whole thing and hear my very timid and shy laugh (LOL) and want to know what they're missing. We giggled for a long time after that and hung around while enjoying my trifle while everyone else was earning one of their cows. It was so fun being mischievous. he he
I walked taller today. Not just because I pulled my heels out of my closet again, but because I had the confidence of T again.
When I found this scripture for my homework, it jumped out at me. Wow! Going through this anxiety/depression will be for my good? With faith I'll embrace it and believe it.
Doctrine & Covenants 122:7
"All these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good."
