General conference traditions

Yesterday morning B woke me up by whispering in my ear, "Happy General Conference".  It was so cute and I loved that she was excited for it.  D and I smiled at each other as we looked around at the forts the kids had each made.  Building forts began years ago with C and A when they were little.  It started out with a couple of blankets, now they use every blanket, pillow, crash pad, folding table, props, blinds, tables and chairs they can find.  It's been fun to see how they have evolved over the years and how something simple has made them look forward to conference.  For two days we are glued to the television to hear our beloved prophet and the other leaders of our church.  Their are forts, snacks, yummy breakfast and pajamas.  It's kind of like Christmas.  haha

Some of my favorite quotes were.....

Broken minds can be healed just the way broken bones and broken hearts are healed.
Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, Like a Broken Vessel

Remember: sin, even if legalized by man, is still sin in the eyes of God!
Elder Russell M. Nelson, Decisions for Eternity

A seemingly small decision such as whether or not to attend a sacrament meeting can have far-reaching, even eternal, consequences.
Elder Kevin S. Hamilton, Continually Holding Fast

The companionship of the Holy Ghost is not just a pleasant convenience-it is essential to your spiritual survival. If you will not treasure up the words of Christ and listen closely to the promptings of the Spirit, you will be deceived. We must do these things.
Elder Adrian Ochoa, Look Up

I promise you that you will one day stand aside and look at your difficult times, and you will realize that He was always there beside you.
President Thomas S. Monson, We Never Walk Alone
