Aaaahhhhhhhh!

So, tonight one of our friends was surprizing her husband with a birthday party. Just before we were walking out the door the phone rang. D read the caller ID, and it said, "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints" with an (801) area code. Knowing that my parents leave for the Dominican Republic in the morning, D said, "It's your mom". I was like wow, my mom's calling from the MTC right before she leaves for a year and a half. So, hesitantly I said, "hello". The woman on the phone asked if I were T and I said yes. She then told me that she was Sister ...... from Temple Square following up with me from August when we were up there. Oh. I must have sounded a little disappointed because she said something that gave me that impression. I giggled and told her who I thought was calling.

Anyway, I wasn't really disappointed because I wasn't planning on a phone call anyway.

We went to the party and had fun visiting with friends. By the time we got there, dinner was practically over so we decided that we'd take A and J out to grab some dinner with us. As we were walking in to the mall with just our two boys, I pointed out how some people probably just thought these were our only two kids. That's when D said, "You mean we look normal." After that I was laughing the entire way in. We had a good time with just those two kids.

When we got home I hung up my keys and listened to the messages that were left on the phone. There was a REALLY familiar voice. It was my mom. I MISSED my MOM!! She called to talk to me right before she left the country for eighteen months. I can't believe it. Okay, now I'm disappointed.

I'm right there with you on the phone call. Mom called me last night at 10 PM and I was at a friends' house playing a game. I too was disappointed to see that Mom had called and I missed it.

I missed the call too. There is always E-mail and we won't have to wait too long before they call again.

Wrong Lor! I've missed her two more times. I'm just not supposed to talk to her I guess.

Hey you! Sorry you missed your mom's call! I can't even imagine how disappointing. But how exciting for them heading out on a new adventure! Wow!

I'm sorry. I would be crushed too. I would email them and tell them to call your cell instead of your home phone. Maybe that way you won't miss them. Just an idea :)
