Trip to Cali

Three of the boys and I jumped in the car, picked up my friend and her two kids and headed to California for Spring Break. We had a great time.

We've never really been to the beach so we went to the Santa Monica pier and played in the sand and water for a few hours. The boys loved burying each other, digging in the sand and jumping over the waves. little g especially loved it when the seagull pooped on his hand. I loved the sound of the waves, the warmth of the sun, and running my fingers through the sand. I like the beach and I can't wait to go back again.

A's very proud of himself for burying J.

When I said buried, I meant buried! A wanted to be buried all except for his nose.

The next day we went to Magic Mountain and had fun on the rides. We were blessed with great weather both days.

We spotted the Los Angeles Temple from the freeway. Of course that made me smile. I'll go back to visit there too.

As we were driving back on the freeway near Pasadena, I had a California Highway Patrolman on a motorcycle drive up next to my window and say, "You better be careful driving. You almost ran over a traffic cop". I'm nodding my head and mouthing the word, "OK" as I'm driving 60 miles an hour. He then drives past me with his partner following behind him down one of those imaginary lanes that those crazy California motorcycles drive in. I turned to my friend where she quickly said, "I didn't even see him". I told her that I hadn't either. I had changed lanes after checking my blindspot and turning on my blinker. Well, when you have a skinny motorcycle driving in between lanes you CANNOT see them. I would have had to turn my head about 210 degrees to see him. So which ever highway patrol man talked to me yesterday...drive in a REAL lane and then I won't almost run over you!

We got home late last night just in time for me to read the last 26 pages of the Book of Mormon for my March Madness. It was very humbling last night as I prayed after reading it. I found myself giving thanks for each of the prophets that I had read about. I was thankful for their faith, their diligence and the fact that they lived their lives with virtue. I'm grateful for those that kept the records of which we now call the Book of Mormon. I love that book and I know it is true.
