A successful hunt!

I could barely sleep last night anticipating the first day of the hunt. I got up early, got dressed, gathered my equipment, and loaded the car with my hunting buddies. We were off.
Not long into our trip I spotted something. Yes, it was a buck. I carefully stalked him as he roamed from location to location. Once I was sure that I could get him, I grabbed him and tagged him.

Isn't that how you hunt?

Did you seriously think I would go hunting? Like shoot an animal, and then cook him in a crockpot for dinner? My eyes were huge and I was laughing my head off at some of the comments about the up coming hunt. I HATE venison, elk, meat you have to chew, meat you can taste, meat that swims, basically all meat.

But I did do a little hunting for fun. D called me this morning in a panic wondering what this hunt thing was all about after seeing my blog. He even thought I really drew out a tag and was going hunting. I pointed out that I just drew a tag. I told him to calm down and play along.

I really was excited for today. I got out one of D's old camo hats and put it on, and sprayed myself with my perfume (have I said how good I smell?) with hopes of drawing him in.

The kids and I got some Reeses cups for him and made a trail in his office so that we could track him. He loves those things so it would be easy.
After following him around awhile I grabbed him and put my tag on him. He was a sport and his employees loved it. He wondered what I was doing. I told him, "I'm Dear Hunting".
I've never had a 'rack' to brag about before, but now, now...I've got a rack with a tag from a buff, handsome, strapping male buck.

Hill-flippin-arious! Thanks for sharing. I wonder if I did that at Priamry Children's Hospital to my Dear if he would get in trouble or if the kids would like it? I will have to ponder that one.

I didn't comment cuz I couldn't figure out for the life of my what was going on!! :) I thought for sure that you didn't care much for venison or hunting!! Turns out I was right, but that you got me good!

That's a riot! How cute...I'll have to try it out I'm thinking...It will be much easier to get that kind of Dear. I went muzzle loading with my dad once...I had the deer all aimed at and ready...and pulled the trigger, and my powder had gotten wet, so it wouldn't shoot. I was really glad, because when I actually got to that point, I didn't know if I could do it. I am fine with my Dad or Hubby hunting, but I just couldn't do it.

And the only way I like venison is when my Dad cooks it. He knows the secret!

Anyway, this totally turned into a novel. I'll go now. But, on last thing..the calzones turned out perfect last night, thanks so much!

First off I'm glad I didn't comment on your first hunting post because then I would have felt stupid. This is such a cute idea! I think your hunt was definitely successful. :)
