Come on in, we're having a party!

This one's for you mom.

All growing up I'd hear my mom say, "Come on in, we're having a party." It wasn't really a party. It was just us girls needing to grab the curling iron, wash our hands, get a band aid or something else that we felt was urgent from the bathroom. My poor mom never had any privacy when she was in there. She has the fastest showers in the world, so why was it that we couldn't just give her the ten minutes she needed a day? (Or less, just because J might correct me) ha ha

Well, the other day I was having my "Calgon" moment of a bubble bath. The kids were downstairs playing/trashing the house, and I was enjoying the hot water and the smell of my coconut bubble bath. Next thing I knew, S and B pranced in with their chairs, sat them down next to my tub and then had a seat. "Really? Really, I have an audience?" I asked myself. I then noticed myself saying, "Come on in, we're having a party." It was that same sarcasm I remember all those years ago. It really wasn't a party at all. Could I not just have my bubble bath to myself?

Just a few short minutes later I was painting the girls fingernails as I sat in the bathtub. So then, it really was a party.

Same thing happened today. The bleachers were brought in by S, and then I was lucky enough to have peanuts and teddy grahams tossed in with me. Seriously?

Although the girls are crazy, I'm having a blast. They're so much fun. As I walked my fix it man out the door the other day, I noticed a doll in time out with her nose on the wall, in the very timeout corner. Then two days later, I noticed a two inch Backyardigan in timeout up in the family room. Cracks me up!

As much as I enjoy hosting parties, these bathroom parties are ones I'd rather not throw! But if by chance my girls show up, I'll just say, "Come on in, we're having a party!"

After all, we did it to my mom. Sorry mom! Te amo.

Good to know. When I come to visit you and you're in the bathroom, I'll just barge in and pull up a seat.

:D

We will visit you soon. I don't know exactly when yet but it will be soon. Bret wants to head down that way anyways on one of his days off. I'll let you know when we pick a date.

Funny stuff. I didn't have anyone barging in on me and yet I always had two minute showers. Still do. Sadly, no teddy grahams have ever visited me. You will cherish these memories.

I love the part about those too little cherubs throwing teddy grahams in for a swim! Perfect!
